When is an entry into your courses possible?

Anytime. Our Forró courses Level 2, 3, and 4 as well as bailafitness are ongoing, and after a brief assessment, you can join one or more of our courses at any time. Level 1 is always 8 weeks long, and it makes sense to start at the beginning or at the latest by the third session. Our Zouk and Samba de Gafieira Level 1 courses start anew quarterly. It is also advisable to join within the first month of a short-term course.

How do I find out when the next beginner course starts?

We try to keep our announcements always updated on our website under Events. However, our IG account bailastudio_aachen (for the dance school overall) or bailaforro (for everything related to Forró) is usually more current. Additionally, there is a Forró in Aachen WhatsApp group where we post updates immediately. If you want to become part of it or have other organizational questions, feel free to send us an email at dance@baila.studio.

How do I register for your courses?

First, you should consider whether you want to take only a weekly course or learn multiple dances at once. If you have little time, a 10-class card might be worth it for you, which you can get on site. For just one course per week, we recommend our bailabasic offer. If you have already reached Level 3 as a Leader/Follower in Forró, but want to review the content from Level 2 or participate in the other role (Follower/Leader), then our bailaforró-Flat might be worthwhile for you. If you are totally enthusiastic about Brazilian dances and want to learn several of them, then you should consider our bailabrazil-Flat. With this, you can participate in all courses up to your respective level as well as our Fitness for bailafitness course. Via “Prices” you can access the different offers and register there and become a member.

How does the classification into the different Forró levels work?

We currently offer four levels of Forró. This ensures that our beginners can learn their first dance steps at their own pace with regular repetition, while also providing our long-standing, advanced dancers with opportunities for further development in higher levels. If you haven't danced Forró before, we will always recommend our Forró Level 1 course. However, if you have already gained experience with Forró elsewhere, we will dance two songs with you and assess your skills according to our requirements for each level to place you into one of our courses.

What do I do if I have been placed at a certain level, but I can't attend the classes on that day?

Accepted Answer

Always speak to us. We want to maintain the quality and learning speed within our courses, so we might not be able to enroll you in the next higher course for now. But we offer options to prepare you as best as possible for the next level (on a different weekday), by supporting you through free dancing on Tuesdays or with private lessons to aid your development.

Question 6

Can I learn both roles (Follower and Leader) with you?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. We will then do an assessment (Leveling) for both levels with you and assign you to one of our courses for both roles. For example, if you are classified as a follower and leader for our Level 3, you can choose the role you want to learn at the beginning of each session.

What should I do if I only visit occasionally and want to participate in the courses?

We offer a 10-ticket card and single tickets. If you visit more often, the 10-ticket card might be worthwhile for you. Otherwise, you can purchase a single ticket through our website at any time before the classes — after your free trial lesson — and simply participate.

Can I bring a friend to the course?

Accepted Answer

Of course! Forró is all about community, and we are happy to welcome every guest. Our spaces are already quite full depending on the number of people, so please do not bring larger groups of friends. Your friends/acquaintances are also welcome to join and participate in a free trial lesson.

Are there summer holidays or other vacation breaks at bailastudio?

Accepted Answer

We do not take traditional summer holidays, but we reserve the right to take up to four weeks of vacation per year, so you can enjoy 48 weeks of full dance power. It may happen that our Samba de Gafieira teachers, for example, take vacation in July and the Zouk teachers are away in September. However, for each dance style, we will ensure that you have 48 weeks of lessons per year and benefit from your membership.

How do I cancel my membership?

Accepted Answer

Your membership cancellation is always possible at the end of the following month. To do so, click on 'My Subscriptions' in the dashboard and follow the instructions. We're sorry to see you go!
